Yes. IEP are one of only a handful of plastic specialists who are members of BESA.

We think this is critically important. Your project will specify plastic ductwork that is fabricated and installed to BESA’s DW154.

Only BESA members are audited by BESCA to ensure compliance with that standard, and given the safety-critical nature of fume extraction ductwork, assurance is vital in ensuring end user safety.

As one of the few plastics specialists who are members of BESA, you can be assured that our plastic ductwork fabrication and installation has been audited for quality by the people who set the standard (DW154).

Our SSIP certification tells you that our health and safety policy, procedures and practices have been audited and accepted for construction/site projects.

As Gold members of Constructionline, you know that our broader compliance on matters like the environment, employment, safety and quality has been assessed and found to meet the requirements of PAS91.

Yes, this is a particular area of expertise. IEP has fabricated ductwork to DW154 using PVC, PVC/GRP, PPs and FBPP/GRP to suit a wide range of chemical and biological projects, and can provide prospective customers with reference sites.

As members of BESA (the publishers of DW154), IEP is audited to ensure that our work meets the requirements of the standard. This is just one reason why you should choose a BESA member for your building services project, and IEP if that project involves plastic ductwork.

The UK standard for fabrication and installation of plastic ductwork is DW154, published in 2000 by HVCA (now BESA). DW154 covers fabrication of PVC and Polypropylene/PPs ductwork, including where GRP reinforcement is required.

It is vital that your ductwork company fabricates to this standard – plastic ductwork is used for the transmission of chemical, biological and radiological fumes and vapours, and leaks caused by poor quality fabrication and/or installation may have tragic results.
